The West Wicklow Festival is proud to present a diverse programme of school workshops, masterclasses, family concerts and outdoor and indoor musical activities!
Highlights of our 2025 Education programme include Farmyard Carnival - a major new festival commission for children and families, our Composition Competition, school visits, masterclasses, and our Rising Stars concerts!
Our educational mission is to provide music education and quality musical experiences to people from all backgrounds.
Our educational activities engage leading Irish and international educational practitioners. Our family events are an integral part of our summer festival and in 2025 the festival will deliver a major new commission for children and families - Farmyard Carnival. Recent other highlights have included musical adventures through Russborough’s mystical Lady’s Island, and our Musical Maze!
We also give talented young Irish artists opportunities to take part in Rising Stars platform performances and to participate in masterclasses led by our world-class international chamber musicians. In 2021 we launched our inaugural Composition Competition in partnership with the Contemporary Music Center, which is free to enter and open to all Irish or Ireland-based composers.
